Maternal Haplogeoup

I just learned my Maternal Haplogroup is N-1. This is surprising since my maternal family is from County Roscommon, Ireland. N-1 is extremely rare in Ireland. Through my research I understand N-1 is more common in Eastern Europe. I do have myheritage matches with people from Latvia. I would appreciate it if anyone can shed some light on this for me. Thank you!

From what I read here, "I" is part of "N1" : http://phylotree.org/tree/N1.htm
And from that : https://dnaandfamilytreeresearch.blogspot.com/2020/03/what-are-most-common-mtdna-subclades-in.html , it seems that "I" is found among ~8% among Irish population.

Also remember that DNA will likely probe migrations happening long before any record. Thus your maternal line being from Ireland in the last centuries didn't tells you when and from where they arrived in Ireland.

And here, if the high-frequency region for your haplogroup is Eastern Europe, keep in mind that Ireland is not that far.
